Give a five steps procedure on how to collect the phloem exudates (Short steps)

1. Identify a suitable plant: Choose a plant species that is known to produce phloem exudates. Examples include maple, grapevine, or cucumber.

2. Prepare the plant: Ensure the plant is healthy and well-watered. Remove any excess leaves or branches that may obstruct access to the phloem.

3. Create an incision: Make a small, shallow incision on the stem or petiole of the plant using a sterile scalpel or razor blade. Be careful not to damage the vascular tissue surrounding the phloem.

4. Collect the exudates: Place a collection tube or vial underneath the incision to catch the phloem exudates as they flow out. Phloem sap is often abundant and will start dripping or streaming from the wound.

5. Store the exudates: Transfer the collected phloem exudates into a clean, sterile container or vial. Store it in a cool environment to prevent degradation until further analysis or experimentation.
