One difference between a book and movie is that where the book you are interpreting an authors words, and using imagination a picture of Vince, watching multiple people, perform an interpretation of the events of a store, listening to the voice of attitude of many different characters, watching a directors interpretation of the events
of the story. In a book, the reader creates their own imagery and interpretation of the characters and events, while in a movie, the director presents their own interpretation through the visuals and dialogue. Additionally, a book can provide more depth and detail to a story, while a movie may have to condense or simplify certain aspects for time and pacing purposes.
