What would happen to Ecosystems without producers in the food chain?

If there were no producers in the food chain, the entire ecosystem would collapse. Producers, such as plants, are the foundation of the food chain because they are the only organisms that can convert sunlight into energy through photosynthesis. Without producers, there would be no source of energy for other organisms to consume. This would lead to a chain reaction, causing herbivores to die off due to lack of food, followed by carnivores and other organisms that depend on them. Eventually, the entire ecosystem would collapse, leading to a loss of biodiversity and potentially causing a ripple effect on other ecosystems that depend on it.
