John and George had some money at first. John spent 2/5 of his money and had $240 left. George spent 4 times as much money as John and had 1/3 of his money left. How much money did George have at first?

I have done several of these kind of problems, they are all very
similar in their setups.
So of course no actual person asked the question, just like no actual
person gave that wrong answer, so what's the point of doing them correctly??
