1. Measure 100 mL of cool water into a jar. Measure the weight of the water and jar.
2. Put four drops of food coloring into water. Do not shake or move the jar.
3. Measure the weight of the jar and water again. Record the difference in weight.
4. Calculate the density of the water by dividing the difference in weight by the volume of water (100 mL).
