Did you know?
Did you know that Venn diagrams can be used to visually represent the overlap of different categories or groups? In a recent survey, 50 students were asked about their activities last night. Surprisingly, 16 students mentioned that they read a book, while 41 students admitted to watching television. Interestingly, 7 students claimed that they did neither activity. By using the information provided, it is possible to determine the number of students who did both activities. This can be achieved by subtracting the total number of students who performed each activity individually from the total number of students surveyed. The resulting number represents the students who engaged in both activities. Drawing a Venn diagram can be a helpful tool for illustrating these numbers and visually demonstrating the overlap between the categories of reading a book and watching television.
