M.C. Escher was a Dutch graphic artist known for his mathematically inspired woodcuts, lithographs, and mezzotints. He is particularly famous for his so-called "impossible constructions," such as his Drawing Hands, in which two hands draw each other. He also created tessellations, which are patterns of interlocking shapes that repeat infinitely.
