Design an experiment to find out if a quarter has more silver or copper in it. The density of copper is 8.9 g/cm3 and the density of silver is 10.5 g/cm3. (write your experiment in steps)

weigh it in air

weigh it in water
find the volume either by doing pi r^2 t or by measuring the volume of water displaced
Mc = 8.9 Vc
Ms= 10.5 Vs
mass total = Mc + Ms = Mt
so
8.9Vc + 10.5 Vs = mass you measured
and Vc + Vs = volume you calculated or measured
solve the two equations for Vc and Vs
