A rectangle has a perimeter of 14 feet and an area of 12 square feet. What is the length and width of the rectangle?

to find area: l * w

the lowest common multiples of 12 are
2 x 6 and 3 x 4

if you use 2 and 6 it doesn't work for perimeter cuz 2+2+6+6 = 16

so the length and width have to be 3 and 4

to find perimeter you have to add the length and width together,
3+3+4+4 which WOULD work cuz then it would be 14
(6) + (8) = 14
