Did you know?
Did you know that the tail to head and tail to tail methods, along with the theorem of Pythagoras, can be used to determine the resultant of two forces acting on the same point? For example, if we have two forces of 5N and 12N respectively, we can draw these forces as vectors starting from their tail (starting point) and extending them to their respective heads (arrow tips). By connecting the head of the first force to the tail of the second force, we can find the resultant using the tail to head method. Similarly, by connecting the tails of both forces and drawing a vector to the head of the second force, we can find the resultant using the tail to tail method. In this case, both methods would give us a resultant of 13N, which can be determined by applying the Pythagorean theorem.
