I need help finding the y-intercepts, x-intercepts, the slope, and the equation y = mx + b.

This is for figuring out when my tree and a teacher's tree will be the same height.

Teacher's tree:

The tree type is Hickory
The growth rate is 10 inches per year, slow rate
Mature size is at least 80 feet

My tree grows 5-8 feet each year
The mature size is 50 feet

x = Number of feet
y = Number of years

Then, I need a basic system for it.

PLEASE HELP!

assuming both trees start from zero height, then the height y (in inches) after x years is

Teacher: y = 10x
you: y = 68x
The trees will never be the same height. You need a starting height for each tree, and the teacher's tree better have a good head start, since your tree grows almost 7 times as fast. (The starting height will be the y-intercept; height at x=0 years)

Thanks, oobleck! Now I can complete my exam portfolio!
