Can someone please help me figure out this problem?
The principle gave Ms. Baudy a trip budget of $500. She decided to buy a small gift for each one of the students. Since she knew that not all students would attend the trip, she planned on buying enough gifts for 190 students.
1. One of the students who is helping to plan the trip found a T-shirt company that would sell them 190 T-shirts with the school's name printed on the front. The company would charge them $400 for all of the T-shirts. What percentage of the trip budget would this use.
How do I figure this out? They would have $100 left after buying the 190 T-shirts with the budget of $500, but how do I figure out what percentage of the budget that is? I just don't understand.
100 * (400 / 500)
