Can somebody show I to get to the answer for a=5.7566, for b=4.382 and for c=3.618? equation given are b=8-c, .78a=b+.03c, .22a=.35cand d=.62c. I don't understand how I can cancel out those equations and get the same answer for a,b and c.

I can't see that d has anything to do with anything., since it appears in only one place. .22a = .35c, so a = (.35/.22)c so, using that in .78a=b+.03c, .78(.35/.22)c = (8-c)+.03c that gives c = 3.618 Now use that to get a and b.
