Write the net ionic equation for the reaction between water and the dissolved ion that explains the observed pH.

AlCl3 - acidic
K2CO3 - basic

Thanks in advance!

You put in the aq etc.

I've seen this done several ways with Al.
Al^3+ + 3HOH --> Al(OH)3 + 3H^+ OR
[Al(H2O)6]^3+ + H2O ==> [Al(H2O)5(OH)]^+ + H3O^+ and you can continue this step wise with each H2O bonded to Al giving a H^+ to H2O to make H3O^+.

Carbonate has two.
CO3^2- + HOH ==> HCO3^- + OH^- for 1st step and
HCO3^- + HOH --> H2CO3 + OH^- for 2nd step
