Two ladders are leaning against a wall at the same angle, as shown. How long is the short ladder?
(two ladders, one is 60 and 40 and the other short ladder says 10).

Is it 15ft? Can someone explain to me how to solve it?
The answer is 15 bc
she says the lengths are 60 inches 40 inches and 10 inches
the proportion would be 40/60 * 10/x
now you have to do cross multiplication.
So, you multiply 60*10
Which is 600
Then divide by 40
And you will get 15.
That's the answer!

You are not telling us the other measurments, ie, the distance each ladder is up the wall, and the distance from the wall to the foot of the ladder.
You work this as SIMILAR triangles, using ratios.
so... what is the answer?
either 60/40 = x/10 ==> x = 15
or 40/60 = x/10 ==> 6.67
So I guess you could be right.
