I'm working on an essay for art and the questions I have to answer are:

1. Where do you see art styles leading in the near and not so near future?

2. Look at examples of 20th and 21st century art. Write a one paragraph statement explaining how you think art will evolve from today's styles.

I already answered the first one, but I don't know how to answer the second one because to me it seems like it is asking the same question again.

Can anyone help?

I agree. The second question seems to be a restatement of the first. I don't know what to advise except to restate your first answer, perhaps expand on it a little.

It seems to me the second one is asking for you to pull out a crystal ball and project where art is going based on current trends: Graphics? Art disbursed in public areas such as streets, parks, etc? Art disbursed by public computer networks?

Absolutely! It's understandable that the second question may seem similar to the first one. However, there are subtle differences that you can focus on to provide a comprehensive response. Here's a step-by-step approach to answering the second question:

1. Research and analyze examples of 20th-century art: Begin by familiarizing yourself with various art movements, styles, and artists from the 20th century. Look for representative artworks belonging to different periods, such as Cubism, Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, etc. Take note of the characteristics, techniques, and intentions behind these styles.

2. Compare 20th-century art with contemporary art forms: Identify how today's art styles differ from those of the 20th century. Consider factors such as the emergence of new technologies, the influence of globalization, changes in societal values, and the evolution of artistic mediums and techniques.

3. Predict the future evolution of art: Based on your observations and analysis, make informed speculations about the direction art may take in the 21st century and beyond. Consider how advancements in technology like virtual reality or augmented reality might influence artistic expression. Think about potential shifts in societal concerns, cultural values, and global events that may shape future art styles.

4. Write a one-paragraph statement: Use your research, analysis, and predictions to formulate a concise statement on how you think art will evolve from today's styles. Make sure to provide reasons, examples, and evidence to support your ideas. Discuss potential influences, themes, or techniques that might emerge in the future, and consider the ways in which artists may respond to the world around them.

By following these steps, you should be able to provide a well-rounded and thoughtful response to the second question. Remember to back up your ideas with relevant examples and create a logical progression in your paragraph.
