how would you go about this question?

a 12 inch by 14inch rectangular cake is divided into 2 inch squares. if your piece is chosen at random what is the probability that my piece is chosen from the outside edge?

    This cake is divided into 42 pieces (6 pieces across amd 7 pieces down).

    There will be 26 edge pieces.

    Your chance of getting an edge piece is 26 out of 42 or 26/42 or 13/21.
