Fay bakes 32 cupcakes. She puts them in a box that has 5rows , with 5cupcakes in each row . How many cupcakes do not fit in the box?

5*5=25

  1. 5*5 = 25 fit in the box

    32 - 25 = 7

    She will have to quickly eat seven of them so no one notices that the box is too small.

  2. If the answer is 25, that is not the answer to the question asked which is how many do NOT fit in the box.
