    If you step outside your front door, you'll probably see these examples of how humans changed the environment in your area. You see HOUSES, paved STREETS, LAWNS, and nonnative PLANTS. Go a few blocks and you'll probably see large BUILDINGS and huge paved PARKING LOTS. Travel a little further and you'll see crops such as ORCHARDS and GRAPES. Continue on, and you'll find STADIUMS, multi-lane HIGHWAYS, RAILROAD TRACKS, BRIDGES spanning large bodies of water, and SKYSCRAPERS. Do you also see telephone, cell and utility POLES?

    All of those things in caps are examples of ways humans have changed their environment.

  3. Trust me. I'm a geography teacher and you should recognize many different ways that people have changed their environments. If your teacher only wants you to copy information from your textbook, o.k. But I want to make sure that you understand other examples also.
