in traveling to Greece, Jim found the exchange rate to be 148 drachma equal to one American dollar. He bought 3 of the same priced items and spent almost 10 American dollars. What was the maximum amount of drachmas for each item?

  1. 148 drachma = 1 dollar

    he spent 10 dollars so he should have 10 = 148 drachma.

    since the 3 items are priced the same just divide the above answer by 3.
