  1. What's morphine used for? Does it have any taste? Or do you think, given the context of the surrounding lines, he's referring to some kind of near-death experience?

    You must take into account the entire passage, not just a couple of words.

    The word "honeyed" can also imply that it's sweet (not literally the taste of it) and welcomed.
