# Algebra Math

Thank You, Declan for answering my question, but I am still haiving trouble on the problem, could you explain to me of how you went about getting the answer -55/4, in deeper detail.

1. If you want to avoid fractions, you might want to look at my solution to your question when you first posted it
http://www.jiskha.com/display.cgi?id=1328440122

You could take my equation

9x - 8y = 110
8y = 9x - 110
divide by 8
y = (9/8)x - 110/8
y = (9/8)x - 55/4

and end up with the same equation that Declan had at the end

I much prefer my method to working with all those factions.
