  1. That sentence will never make good sense if you keep this word order. Having two adverbial clauses at the end of the sentence is very awkward.

    Move the "if" clause to the beginning of the sentence, and try it from there.

    If ... , the glass broke because you were careless.

    If you ran through the gift shop, then the glass broke because you were careless.

    I'm still not happy with that sentence, but it's better than putting both adverbial clauses together.
