Is the formula for zinc hydroxide ZnOH2

Almost. Since Zn is +2 and OH is -1 OH must be multiplied by 2. I think that is what your 2 was supposed to do; however, unless you place parentheses around the OH, it just multiplies the H by 2 and not the O. So the formula is Zn(OH)2.
