the transverse axis is 12 and the foci from the center is 16

is the answer x squared / 36 - y squared / 220 = 1

  1. so a = 6
    c = 8
    a^ + b^2 = c^2
    b^2 = 64-36 = 28

    then x^2/36 - y^2/28 = 1
