What possible insight into our visual system does visual illusions provide? What are perceptual constancies?

  1. Visual illusions give us insight into the limitations of our sensory systems in contrast to "seeing is believing."

    The perceptual constancies involve those of size, shape, brightness and others. However, there are still learned and environmental factors that can effect these constancies. I searched Google under the key words ""perceptual constancies'" to get these possible sources:
