I am having trouble finding the x and y intercepts in this equation. Can someone please help me?

y=-5-5x

  1. The y intercept is where the line intercepts the y axis. So, it occurs when x = 0. Plug the value of 0 into your equation. What do you get?

  2. The x intercept occurs where the line intercepts the x axis. The value of y at that point is 0. If you substitute 0 for y in your equation, what does x then equal?
