I forgot to include the following statements. I really hope you can correct them, too.

1) They both have a weak personality and depend upon their partners for stability and protection.
2) Though Clarissa attempts to gain freedom and independence, she is influenced by the extremely conservative views of both her husband and her father, who impose severe restrictions on her spontaneous feelings.
3) On the other hand, Septimus is guilt-ridden since the death of his friend Evans during the war.
4) He is haunted by the sprectre of Evans, suffers from headaches and cannot stand the idea of having a child. Actually, he is sexually impotent and entirely depends on Lucrezia.
5) There is, however, a main difference between the two.
6) Septimus is unable to distinguish between himself (?) and the outside reality whereas Clarissa never loses her awareness of the outside world as something external to herself.

Leave out the question mark in 6 and put a semi-colon before whereas. The rest are fine.
