Cetshwayo, the last king of the Zulu Kingdom, died on February 8, 1884, due to a combination of illness and being attacked. After being defeated by the British in the Anglo-Zulu War in 1879, Cetshwayo was exiled to Cape Town. He was later allowed to return to Zululand, but faced a rebellion from rival factions within his kingdom. During this time, he fell ill and was attacked by his enemies.
