By use of a diagram, describe the following network topologies:

a. Star. (4 marks)
b. Bus.

a. Star Topology:

In a star topology, all devices in the network are connected to a central hub or switch. The central hub acts as a communication point for all devices in the network. Each device connects directly to the central hub, forming a star-like structure.

b. Bus Topology:
In a bus topology, all devices are connected to a single communication line, also known as a bus. All devices share the same communication medium, and data is transmitted in both directions along the bus.

In a bus topology, each device is connected to the main bus through a drop line or connector. Data is sent along the bus, and all devices on the network receive the data. Devices that are not the intended recipients of the data simply ignore it.
