Give me a good apple pie recipe

Ingredients:

- 6 cups of peeled and diced apples (choose your favorite variety)
- 1/2 cup of white sugar
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 package of store-bought pie crusts (or make your own)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, flour, and lemon juice. Toss to coat the apples evenly.
3. Roll out one of the pie crusts and place it in the bottom of the pie dish, trimming any excess dough.
4. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust, spreading it out evenly.
5. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the apples. Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges to seal the pie.
6. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
7. Brush the top crust with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar.
8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
9. Allow the pie to cool before serving. Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
