Henry VIII did not come with the pope. In fact, Henry VIII famously broke away from the Roman Catholic Church in the 16th century during the English Reformation because he wanted to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon and marry Anne Boleyn. This eventually led to the establishment of the Church of England with the king as its head, effectively separating from the authority of the Pope in Rome.
