Rewritten passage:
Despite the fierce storm raging outside, Amy found solace in the cozy warmth of her apartment. As the rain drummed against the windows and the wind howled, she felt grateful for the safe shelter she had to weather the storm. Pulling her favorite blanket around her shoulders, she curled up on the couch with a cup of hot tea, feeling a sense of peace settle over her. The storm outside may have been tumultuous, but inside, Amy felt a sense of calm and security.
