Interest groups and the mass media both exert influence on the U.S. government by shaping public opinion and lobbying for policies, but I believe that the mass media has the most important influence because it reaches a wider audience and can sway public opinion more easily, which can be good for holding the government accountable but also bad if used to spread misinformation.
