Do organisms evolve because changes in the environment cause organisms to change

Organisms primarily evolve through the process of natural selection, whereby individuals with traits that are better suited to their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce, passing on those advantageous traits to their offspring. Changes in the environment can act as a selective pressure, favoring certain traits over others and driving evolutionary changes within a population over time. So, while changes in the environment can play a significant role in driving evolution, it is ultimately the process of natural selection that leads to evolutionary change in organisms.
