When investigating a scientific claim, your first stop should be the Internet or the library to get a basic overview of the topic from the secondary literature: a summary, in the popular press for example, of what is written in the primary literature. Next, you should review the primary literature itself: research that is first published on the topic, with the data collected by the author. Sort the following sources as either primary literature or secondary literature.
