Science fiction movies sometimes take place in space and contain scenes where things explode very loudly and brightly. Why is this unrealistic?

-
• Matter is needed to transmit sound waves.
• The pressure in space would keep explosions from being very large.
• Large explosions are more likely to create seismic waves, not sound and light.
• Light waves cannot travel through the vacuum of space.

Therefore, the idea of loud and bright explosions in space as portrayed in science fiction movies is unrealistic because sound cannot travel in the vacuum of space to produce loud explosions, and the lack of atmosphere and pressure in space would limit the size and intensity of explosions. Additionally, light waves cannot be seen in space without a medium to reflect off of.
