Start off with a nice introduction to the letter. How will you get them on your side right away? This should be at least TWO sentences long. Response Starter: "Dear Romeo, my closest friend who..."

Dear Romeo, my closest friend who has always been there for me in both good times and bad. I hope this letter finds you well and brings a smile to your face as you read my words of appreciation and gratitude.

Break the news gently. Sentence starter: "I hate to say this, but I don't think you should get married because..."

I hate to say this, but I don't think you should get married because I have some concerns about the compatibility between you and your partner. I want the best for you, and I believe that entering into a marriage with these underlying issues could lead to potential challenges and unhappiness down the road.

Give at least TWO specific examples of things that happened in the past because of them trying to be together. You will use these two examples in the next sections. Sentence starter: "Don't forget about when ______________ and also when ______________!"

Don't forget about when you and your partner had that big fight at the party last year, causing tension and hurt feelings between the two of you. And also when your partner's family made negative remarks about your career choice, causing additional strain on your relationship.
