Our first foray into adaptations will start with something small that you can take in various directions as your heart desires.

Attached you will see a comprehensive list of Aesop's Fables, courtesy of the Library of Congress.,

Your job is to choose which of these fables you'd like to adapt into your own story.

After reading through and selecting one, I want you to create a few things.
1. A story arc. What is the direction of the plot?
2. Character arcs for all main characters. How do these characters change over the course of the story?
3. A summary of thoughts for the direction you'd like to take when adapting this story.
This should include but is not limited to aspects such as: Setting, Plot, Emphasis of Theme, What will stay true versus what you will spin, Tone

the fable I'll do is The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

1. Story Arc:

The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing follows a cunning wolf who disguises himself as a sheep in order to infiltrate a flock and prey on the unsuspecting sheep. However, as he spends more time among the sheep, he starts to develop a form of empathy for them, leading to a moral dilemma as he must ultimately choose whether to betray them or protect them from other predators.

2. Character Arcs:
- The Wolf: Initially portrayed as a sly and deceptive predator, the Wolf's interactions with the sheep challenge his beliefs and force him to confront his own moral compass. Through internal conflict and self-reflection, the Wolf experiences a transformation from a heartless predator to a conflicted and ultimately reformed individual.
- The Sheep: Representing innocence and vulnerability, the Sheep initially view the Wolf in Sheep's clothing as one of their own, unaware of his true intentions. As they begin to suspect the Wolf's true nature, they must grapple with feelings of betrayal and distrust towards a once trusted member of their flock.

3. Summary of Direction:
Setting: The story will take place in a picturesque meadow surrounded by lush forests, with the flock of sheep grazing peacefully under the watchful eye of the cunning Wolf in Sheep's clothing.
Plot: The adaptation will delve deeper into the internal struggles and moral complexities faced by both the Wolf and the Sheep, shifting the focus from a simple morality tale to a more nuanced exploration of empathy, deception, and redemption.
Emphasis of Theme: The key themes of the adaptation will revolve around the power of empathy to challenge preconceived notions and the transformative nature of self-discovery and redemption.
True vs. Spin: The core elements of the original fable will remain intact, such as the deceptive nature of the Wolf and the ultimate moral lesson. However, the adaptation will explore these themes in a more introspective and character-driven manner, providing greater depth and complexity to the narrative.
Tone: The tone of the adaptation will be contemplative and introspective, alternating between moments of tension and introspection as the characters navigate their emotional journeys and moral dilemmas. Ultimately, the tone will evolve towards a hopeful and redemptive conclusion that reflects the transformative power of empathy and self-discovery.
