Phases of the moon

1. New Moon: The moon is not visible from Earth because it is positioned between the Earth and the Sun.

2. Waxing Crescent: The moon is visible as a thin crescent shape, slowly growing larger as it moves towards the first quarter.

3. First Quarter: The right half of the moon is visible, resembling a half circle.

4. Waxing Gibbous: The moon continues to grow larger, with more than half of its surface visible but not yet fully illuminated.

5. Full Moon: The entire face of the moon is illuminated and visible from Earth.

6. Waning Gibbous: The moon begins to shrink in size after the full moon, with more than half of its surface still visible.

7. Last Quarter: The left half of the moon is visible, resembling another half circle.

8. Waning Crescent: The moon continues to shrink in size and appears as a thin crescent shape, getting smaller as it approaches the new moon phase again.
