In a food pyramid there is typically less biomass at the top there are very few

organisms that occupy the top predator level. This is because the energy from the lower levels of the food chain is not efficiently transferred to higher trophic levels. This is due to the fact that energy is lost at each level of the food chain through respiration, heat production, and waste production. As a result, there is not enough energy available to support a large number of top predators.
