6.3.2 State at least three (3) strategies that a teacher may use to support this learner when they display unexplained ataxia, confusion and are not responding. (3)

1. Provide a calm and safe environment for the learner: Ensure that the classroom is free from distractions and noise that may agitate the learner further. Create a calm and supportive atmosphere where the learner feels safe and comfortable.

2. Seek medical attention immediately: If a learner is displaying unexplained ataxia, confusion, and is not responding, it is important to seek medical attention immediately. The learner may be experiencing a medical emergency or a recurrence of seizures, so it is important to act quickly to ensure their safety and well-being.

3. Communicate with the learner's parents or caregivers: It is important to keep the learner's parents or caregivers informed about any changes in behavior or symptoms they may be experiencing. The parents or caregivers can provide valuable insights into the learner's medical history and any potential triggers or warning signs to watch out for. They can also assist in coordinating medical care and support for the learner.
