Simple Sentence - a sentence that consists of only one independent clause, with a subject and a verb. Example: The dog barked.

Complex Sentence - a sentence that consists of one independent clause and at least one dependent clause. Example: Although it was raining, we went for a walk.

Compound Sentence - a sentence that consists of two or more independent clauses, often connected by coordinating conjunctions like "and," "but," or "or." Example: I wanted to go to the beach, but it was too cold.

Compound-Complex Sentence - a sentence that consists of at least two independent clauses and one or more dependent clauses. Example: While I was cooking dinner, my husband set the table, and my children played outside.
