Nonzero sum games

A nonzero sum game is a type of situation in game theory where the participants' gains and losses are not equal or balanced. In other words, one player's gain does not necessarily equal another player's loss, and vice versa. Instead, it is possible for both players to win or for both players to lose.

In a nonzero sum game, the sum of the players' gains and losses is not necessarily zero, hence the term "nonzero sum". This type of game is often contrasted with zero sum games, where the total gains and losses among participants always equal zero.

Examples of nonzero sum games include business negotiations, where both parties can benefit from reaching a mutually agreeable deal, or environmental policies, where the cooperation of multiple parties can lead to positive outcomes for all involved.
