Define the different types of source water along with the different types of water supplies. Which kinds of source water and water supplies do you see in your own community?

Source water refers to the body of water from which untreated water is drawn for drinking water purposes. The different types of source water include surface water (such as rivers, lakes, and reservoirs) and groundwater (from underground aquifers).

Water supplies refer to the treatment and distribution of water for consumption. The different types of water supplies include public water systems (regulated by local or federal government agencies) and private water systems (such as private wells).

In my own community, we have both surface water sources (such as a nearby river and a reservoir) and groundwater sources (from wells). Our water supply is managed by a public water system that ensures the quality and safety of our drinking water.
