What idea does the narrator conceive what does he do to accomplish his idea

In "The Tell-Tale Heart," the narrator conceives the idea that the old man's "vulture eye" must be destroyed in order to rid himself of the old man's "evil" gaze. To accomplish this, the narrator plans and executes the murder of the old man while he is sound asleep, carefully dismembering the body and hiding the remains beneath the floorboards.
