For this portfolio, imagine you are in Buenos Aires’ largest shopping mall, Abasto shopping.

During your visit to the mall, you decide to buy a few things for a family member before returning back home. Write a 10 to 15 sentence journal entry in which you detail some of the things that you purchased at the Abasto mall. You may choose to include some of the gift and clothing accessory vocabulary words that you learned earlier in this unit.

Your journal entry should include:

A description of what you bought
Details about where you bought it
Name and relation of the person for whom you bought each gift
In your journal entry, make sure to use expressions that signal the past tense, and the preterite tense of regular –ar verbs. Remember to add an opinion to your portfolio.

Today, I had a great time at the Abasto shopping mall in Buenos Aires. I decided to buy a few things for my family before heading back home. First, I stopped at a clothing store called "Moda Urbana" and bought a cozy sweater for my sister, Lucia. The sweater was a beautiful shade of olive green and was on sale for a great price.

Next, I went to a jewelry store called "Joyas de Plata" and purchased a pair of silver earrings for my mom, Maria. The earrings were elegant and sparkly, perfect for her to wear to special occasions. She loves jewelry, so I know she will be thrilled with this gift.

After that, I visited a book store called "Librería El Ateneo" and picked out a novel for my dad, Carlos. He enjoys reading thrillers, so I found a bestseller that I know will keep him entertained for hours. The book has received great reviews, so I'm sure he will love it.

Overall, I'm very happy with the gifts I bought for my family. The shopping mall had a great selection of stores and I was able to find something special for each of them. I can't wait to see their reactions when I give them their presents. This was definitely a successful shopping trip!
