To what or whom was the Eroica Symphony ultimately dedicated

The Eroica Symphony was ultimately dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte. Beethoven originally intended to dedicate the symphony to Napoleon due to his admiration for him as a champion of the democratic and liberal ideals of the French Revolution. However, when Napoleon declared himself Emperor in 1804, Beethoven revoked the dedication, expressing his disappointment and renaming the symphony simply as "Sinfonia Eroica" (Eroica Symphony).
