For this activity, you will submit examples of graphic design movements that you have studied thus far in the course. Submit all 10 examples. Next, choose three of any of your examples. In your own words, explain why you like the three examples and why you think they belong to the movement that they represent.

Examples of graphic design movements:

1. Art Nouveau
2. Bauhaus
3. Swiss Style
4. Constructivism
5. Dada
6. De Stijl
7. Postmodernism
8. Minimalism
9. Memphis Group
10. Op Art

Explanation of three chosen examples:

1. Bauhaus - I like this example because of its emphasis on functionality and simplicity. The use of geometric shapes, sans-serif typography, and primary colors is striking and effective. Bauhaus belonged to the movement of modernism, with its focus on merging art and industry.

2. Swiss Style - I appreciate this example for its clean and structured design elements. The use of grid systems, sans-serif typefaces, and asymmetrical layouts is visually appealing and easy to navigate. Swiss Style is known for its precision and clarity, making it a key movement in the development of graphic design.

3. Memphis Group - This example stands out to me because of its bold colors, patterns, and eclectic mix of materials. The use of geometric shapes, kitschy motifs, and playful compositions creates a sense of whimsy and creativity. Memphis Group was a reaction against the minimalism of the time, embracing a more postmodern aesthetic.
