Sermon on Micah 1 vs 1-16 Acts 1ú vs 1-14

Today, we will be looking at two passages from the Bible: Micah 1:1-16 and Acts 1:1-14. These passages both discuss the importance of listening to God's word and following his guidance.

In Micah 1:1-16, the prophet Micah delivers a message from God to the people of Israel. He warns them of the impending judgment that will come upon them if they continue to disobey God's commandments. The passage serves as a reminder of the consequences of sin and the importance of repentance.

Similarly, in Acts 1:1-14, we see the disciples gathered together after Jesus' ascension into heaven. They are waiting for the promised Holy Spirit to come upon them so that they can continue the work that Jesus started. This passage highlights the importance of prayer, community, and patience in waiting for God's timing.

Both passages emphasize the need to listen to God's word and follow his guidance. We are reminded that God has a plan for each of us, and it is essential to seek his will in all that we do. Just as the people of Israel faced judgment for their sins, we too must be mindful of our actions and strive to live in obedience to God.

As we reflect on these passages, let us remember the importance of listening to God's word and following his guidance. May we be like the disciples in Acts, patiently waiting for the Holy Spirit to guide us in our faith journey. Let us heed the warnings of Micah and repent of our sins, turning back to God with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
